Cowling: The engine cowling is reinforced by a tooling glass layer
Tails: Layered in 2oz fiber glass, 1.4 oz fiberglass, 1.5 mm rhoacell
foam, 1.4 oz fiberglass, and 2oz fiberglass.
Vertical Tail: Layered in 1.4 oz fiberglass, 1.5 mm rhoacell foam, and 1.4 oz
fiberglass
Wing: Layered in 2 oz fiberglass, 1.4 oz fiberglass, 2mm rhoacell foam, 1.4 oz
fiberglass, and 3 oz fiberglass, and 2 strips of 1 inch unidirectional carbon fiber tape for spar caps
and wing reinforcement. The wing is rated for 40 g's and has been tested up to 13.67 g's.
Wet layup: fiberglass cloth being worked into the fuselage mold groove and saturated with epoxy, one
of the hands-on steps in the composite manufacturing sequence above.
